Ingredients
- 2 cups old-fashioned/ 5-minute cooking rolled oats
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup maple syrup (you can also use honey)
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup chopped nuts
- ½ cup raisins
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Measure the oats into a mixing bowl and stir in the salt and cinnamon. Make a well in the center of the oats, and pour in the maple syrup and olive oil. Mix thoroughly. A fork is the easiest way to mix the ingredients. Add the nuts, combine well and spread the mixture on a jelly roll pan, using a fork to spread it evenly.
Bake for 15 minutes; stir the mixture with a fork to separate. Bake another 5 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Keep an eye on it as the mixture can burn quickly.
Remove from the oven and transfer the mixture from the hot pan to a cool cookie sheet to cool. If you allow the cooked granola to cool on the pan that you have cooked it on, it will harden and be difficult to remove. When it has cooled, stir in the raisins
